Human Resources Manager

PGAV is looking for a HR Manager who will work in our St. Louis office. This non-remote position will work closely with the Benefits Manager and other Senior Leadership and Principals.

Background

  • This role offers the opportunity to lead and influence the full scope of human resources strategy and operations. The Human Resources Manager plays a critical role in partnering with leadership to support PGAV business objectives, shape workplace culture, and drive continuous improvement across people-related initiatives. This position provides meaningful exposure to leadership development, workforce planning, and talent development, while also incorporating impact, autonomy, and professional growth.
  • Although expected to be a hands-on position, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for directing the daily human resources activities and overseeing all HR functions at PGAV headquarters and for all location(s). This role serves as a strategic partner to leadership, providing guidance and support on all people-related matters while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and overseeing all human resources functions, including recruitment, selection, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation, training, and talent development
  • Partnering with leadership to align HR initiatives with business objectives and workforce needs
  • Build relationships with business leaders by providing support and guidance to enhance team performance and organizational culture
  • Developing, implementing, and delivering HR and leadership training programs, including compliance, conflict resolution, communication, and leadership development
  • Supporting workforce planning initiatives, including internship and training programs in collaboration with universities and training providers
  • Assist in talent management activities, including supporting succession planning and staffing efforts to enhance workforce productivity
  • Administering performance management processes, including evaluations and merit increase programs
  • Help implement HR strategies and practices, ensuring effective communication and engagement with employees
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training programs that enhance employee skills and promote a positive workplace culture
  • Support the analysis of HR metrics to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Preparing, updating, and maintaining job descriptions, policies, procedures, and employee handbooks
  • Conducting employee investigations, documenting findings, and implementing appropriate actions
  • Developing and managing HR budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring accountability
  • Representing management in hearings, audits, investigations, and community relations activities as needed
  • Quarterly travel to other domestic offices
  • Participating in site-specific committees and cross-functional initiatives
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing solutions to enhance HR effectiveness
  • Performing additional responsibilities as needed to support organizational objectives

Education, Certifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management, or a related field
  • Eight (8) or more years of progressive human resources experience, including leadership responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices across employee relations, talent management, and compliance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Expertise with Paylocity HRIS
  • HR certification (HRCI or SHRM) strongly preferred
