Ameristar Black Hawk Resort

In 2004, Ameristar acquired a beautiful two-level casino in Black Hawk boasting the warmth of a landmark mountain lodge. Soaring ceilings, timber beams, slate floors, and massive floor-to-ceiling stone fireplaces made the building a place to remember.

To bring Ameristar’s new offering into the 21st century, PGAV Destinations completed a comprehensive renovation of the gaming destination and added a 32-story tower to serve as a luxury hotel, day spa, and event and meeting space. Rich detailing and textures are found not only throughout the conference enter, event center, spa, and pool, but also in the finely appointed rooms. The new resort combines a modern casino experience with the rustic elegance of a historic 19th century Gold Rush town.

Fun Fact

The casino’s location, known as “Gregory Gulch,” was a pivotal town in the Pike’s Peak Gold rush of 1864. Today, small, intimate casinos housed in historic structures from the original mining town blend with themed destination hotels to create “The City of Mills.”
