PGAV Destinations designs Wildebeestro, Safari Outpost, and Mrs. Klaus’ Kitchen
(St. Louis, MO – March 11, 2014) – Three great new attractions designed by PGAV Destinations are coming to Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari in Santa Claus, IN for the 2014 season.
Matt Eckert, president of Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari, chose PGAV Destinations as the concept and attraction designer based on the firm’s theme and water park experience with destinations such as SeaWorld and Universal Studios. “PGAV is in tune with the story we want to tell – they get us. We are excited to add to the magic our park has offered since we opened as the very first theme park back in 1946,” said Eckert.
Mrs. Klaus’ Kitchen
The popular bakery and candy shop is undergoing a magical reimaging in the Christmas hub, leveraging the warm colors and inviting nature of Germanic Christmas design themes. The new design calls for heightened visibility and fun theming appropriate for the holiday zone, including peppermint candy decorations, a massive Christmas tree made out of baked goods, and will incorporate much of the structure’s existing piping as themed “candy factory” supply tubes. The bakery includes a fun cookie bar where guests can decorate their own Christmas cookies. The design firm is delighted to tout that this serves as their first official design project for Santa Claus himself, as all letters addressed to Santa are sent to and replied from Santa Claus, Indiana.
Safari Outpost
Safari Outpost aims to be a fantastic new retail offering at the Splashin’ Safari water park. While guests prepare to enter the park in the large welcome plaza, they’ll be able to pick up last-minute water park needs such as swimwear, sundries, towels, activity shoes, and souvenirs at this African-themed shop with plenty of colorful animal friends!
Wildebeestro
A great new restaurant is coming this year to Splashin’ Safari near Wildebeest, the four-year-running #1 Water Park Ride in the world, as voted by Amusement Today magazine. Wildebeestro will be African-themed with totems and other inspired designs, and will serve wraps, seafood, salads, fruit, and other treats to nearly 800 guests an hour
PGAV Destinations looks forward to a great continuing partnership with Holiday World, as the two work together to develop an exciting 20-year master plan for America’s first theme park.
