The Commons is a grand concourse with multiple terraces and a footprint larger than two football fields.

Throughout the Commons, large format screens showcase stories about NASM’s mission and its collection. Partnering with world-renowned data visualization artist Refik Anadol, data-driven machine learning algorithms draw from thousands of archive photos to generate abstract, dream-like “data paintings.”
