Congratulations to Chimelong Ocean Kingdom for THEA Award
Ocean Kingdom marks 8th PGAV Destinations project to receive Thea Award
(St. Louis, MO – March 17, 2015) – Chimelong Ocean Kingdom will be honored with the Themed Entertainment Association’s (TEA) Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement this weekend at the 21st annual Thea Awards Gala & TEA Summit at Disneyland Resort.
“Chimelong Ocean Kingdom raises the bar for other Chinese park developers and demonstrates how much can be achieved with a combination of Western design and Chinese execution,” said Steve Birket, TEA president. “[The park] is distinguished by its uplifting message of unity and diversity, its pioneering East-West collaboration.”
The newest addition to Asia’s top theme parks such as Hong Kong Disneyland and Universal Studios Singapore marks the eighth destination designed by PGAV Destinations to receive a Thea Award. The other award-winning destinations include:

St. Louis-based consulting and design firm PGAV Destinations served as the product strategist, master planner, lead design consultant, and lead designer of the 125-acre (50 ha.) attraction on Henquin Island near Macao. Ocean Kingdom took three years to construct, and features seven unique areas, each themed around a different part of the world’s waterways, merging themed rides and animal habitats through innovative ways.
