Mega Storm Now Open at Everland Resort

PGAV Destinations-designed Attraction Achieves New Records at Top Korean Destination

(St. Louis, MO – January 19, 2016) – Mega Storm is one of the latest PGAV Destinations-designed attractions to open at the Gyeonggi-do Province, Korea-based Everland Resort.

Mega Storm is a Proslide HydroMAGNETIC® Tornado attraction located within Everland’s water park, Caribbean Bay. The family raft ride marks the third of its kind in the world, leveraging innovative technology to propel the raft uphill, finalizing in a steep drop into the ‘tornado,’ sending guests oscillating back and forth. The theming of the entry building and queue leverages the massive, iconic ‘tornado,’ as signage, set pieces, and more are being ‘swept’ towards the giant funnel.

“It’s been fantastic to work with the Everland team in realizing this great new attraction,” said Jeff Havlik, VP at PGAV Destinations and lead design consultant. “2016 will be a thrilling year as we continue to develop new attractions for millions of guests at the Everland Resort.”

Since the opening in 1976, Everland has been a theme park providing a wide range of attractions and special events that can be shared with family, friends and couples. Such attractions include ‘Safari World,’ introduced in the 70s, the ‘Snow Sled’ in the ’80s, and ‘Caribbean Bay’ in the 90s, ‘Aesop’s Village’, along with ‘Lost Valley’ which in 2013.  Lost Valley is the only attraction in the world where visitors can connect with animals both on land and water.  The latter was the first Aesop-based theme park in the world which opened in 2005.
