PGAV Destinations’ Michael Linenbroker Promoted to Vice President

Leading International Attraction Designer Grows Mentorship and Development Program

The global planning and design firm PGAV Destinations announced that Mike Linenbroker has been promoted from Senior Project Architect to Vice President.

“Mike has modelled impressive professionalism and leadership over his past 25 years with the firm,” said Mike Konzen, PGAV Principal and Chair. “I look forward to his expanded role in mentoring and developing our designers and project leaders, helping to secure our position as an industry leader that employs top talent.”

With a motto “the more complicated the better,” Linenbroker is recognized for his innate ability to translate attraction concepts from initial schematic design to the technical coordination of architectural details – working on every phase of each project. “I truly enjoy working through the many nuts and bolts,” he said.

The impact of Linenbroker’s nearly three-decade career at PGAV is evident across the country and around the world at numerous record-setting destinations. “Many architects talk about their ‘once-in-a-career opportunities,’ but I think I just had my fifth one so far,” reflected Linenbroker. Beginning with an entirely new theme park, Spain’s Port Aventura, in the early 1990s, he went on to work on Hong Kong’s Grand Aquarium, the Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, and many of the most notable SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment attractions across the country. “Currently on my desk, I have a master plan for a new park in Europe sitting next to detailing work I’m doing for a project in Orlando – drastically different scales,” explained Linenbroker. “I just love what I do – the work is so varied and invigorating!”

Linenbroker’s exposure to the world of architecture came at an early age, when he worked for his architect father as a young draftsman, and eventually joined Callies and Pfaff, known as Callies Architects. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Architecture from Kansas State University while studying abroad at the Italart – Santa Chiara in Castiglion Fiorentino, Italy.

“As I look back on my career and think of all the people who supported me, and the mentors who were sources of critical information and great advice, I am humbled,” said Linenbroker.  “They made me who I am today, and I am honored to have the opportunity to pay it forward.”
