PGAV Destinations’ Marie Shellenberg Promoted to Manager of Optimizing MOJO

PGAV Seeks New Approaches to Staff Development and Growth

PGAV's Executive Assistant Marie ShellenbergThe global planning and design firm PGAV Destinations announced that Marie Shellenberg has been promoted from Office Manager to Manager of Optimizing MOJO.

A grassroots effort by PGAV’s creatives, “MOJO” is a new initiative which distills the team’s culture and unique approach to project design. Senior and junior staff collaborate to explore these strengths, share design and industry knowledge and advance PGAV’s values. At the core of her new role, Ms. Shellenberg will be growing this program and exploring new opportunities to foster this mentoring culture while empowering PGAV’s team members.

“I’m honored that PGAV has given me this opportunity, and I’m very excited about how I can help propel our firm toward increased innovation,” said Shellenberg of her promotion. “PGAV Destinations is my ‘work family,’ and I’ve been passionate about their growth and development for my entire career here. I’m thrilled that passion has now translated into this new role!”

Shellenberg has been with PGAV Destinations for 18 years, most recently serving as office manager, reporting directly to the practice’s Principal and Chair Mike Konzen. She has been heavily involved in marketing initiatives and supporting PGAV’s presence at conferences, and served as project administrator for various destination design projects around the world, including Georgia Aquarium, Chimelong Ocean Kingdom
and Discovery Cove. In addition, Shellenberg mentored and managed other staff members, including front desk
specialists and executive assistants.

While Shellenberg will maintain many of her previous responsibilities, her new Manager of Optimizing MOJO position will provide opportunities to innovate and grow PGAV’s talents and team internally and throughout the industry. Initially, she will be creating bold strategies to revamp the company’s staff feedback and review process, providing new systems for ongoing development. She will focus on ways to improve the early, formative years of team members and ensure employees’ individual growth and development needs are met. In her new position, Shellenberg will also consider on-site guest and staff hospitality and recruitment opportunities.

“After 18 years with PGAV Destinations, Marie Shellenberg has the deepest respect of our entire team and understands our goals better than anyone else,” said Mike Konzen. “We are absolutely thrilled to have her in this new role, and look forward to the ways in which she’ll work with our growing team to address our human resource needs.”

Shellenberg attended Bradley University and is a graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication.
