Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Honor Museum
The Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Honor Museum immerses visitors in Steeler’s history with ambient sound, videos, and interactive touchscreens, all adorned in the iconic yellow and black.
Throughout the museum, sounds of Steelers football surround visitors, including a game clock ticking down and crowds cheering. Visitors sit on replica player benches from Three Rivers Stadium while watching a journey through 90 years of football. Details like the desk the Chief sat behind with a cigar at the ready fill the space. Visitors are invited to participate in the experience by stepping into the broadcast booth to record themselves, calling one of many the iconic plays in Steelers’ history. Fans see the breadth of great players who have been part of the Steelers franchise and the Hall of Honor plaques honoring them. A video display highlighting the current year’s Hall of Honor inductees engages fans. Fans feel the excitement of running onto the field as they move through a tunnel filled with lights and cheering. After emerging from the tunnel, fans put themselves in key moments in Steeler’s history with photos and add their home city to a map of the world, showing the global reach of Steelers Nation.
Exhibits can be refreshed with items from the extensive collection to keep the museum fresh, and the museum includes a changing gallery allowing new stories to be told. The space is flexible, providing an event space on game days and a pre-function area for events in the UMPC Club.
PGAV developed concept plans, including arrival, ticketing, gallery organization, and highly interactive and immersive experiences.
